The Bangalore Bioinnovation Centre (BBC) is a flagship government initiative dedicated to nurturing innovation, entrepreneurship, and commercialization in the biotechnology sector. Strategically located in Bengaluru, Karnataka - widely known as the Silicon Valley of India - BBC serves as a catalyst for next-generation biotech startups, researchers, and innovators.
Jointly established by the Department of IT, BT and S&T, Government of Karnataka, and the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India, BBC offers a world-class innovation ecosystem designed to accelerate the journey from idea to impact.
BBC provides access to state-of-the-art laboratory infrastructure, advanced scientific equipment, and shared facilities, enabling startups to focus on innovation without heavy upfront capital investment. Beyond infrastructure, the Centre plays a pivotal role in empowering entrepreneurs through mentorship from industry experts, structured incubation programs, networking with investors and industry leaders, and access to government and private funding opportunities.
By actively fostering collaboration between academia, industry, startups, and government bodies, BBC creates a vibrant platform for knowledge exchange, translational research, and commercialization of breakthrough technologies.
